About Us

Rugby has been called the ultimate team sport. It evolved from soccer in the early 1800s, and American football evolved from Rugby in the early 1900s. Rugby demands teamwork, discipline, respect, and hard-work. Rugby at GHS provides another venue for high school athletes to learn life values and skills that can transfer to what our world demands of us today.
History
Greenville High School Rugby Club was founded in 2008. In our first year, we were able to bring home the Single High School State Championship and qualify for the South Tournament. We have continued with excellence by playing in the state championship match in 2009 & 2011 and qualifying for the South Tournament for the past 4 years.

Testimonials
John Roberts - Head Furman Rugby Coach, founded the Furman Rugby program in 1998 and has guided the team to three national Division III titles and five South Championships.
"Coach Reid and Coach Brogan are building their program the right way. They stress the basics while demanding personal responsibility and good sportsmanship. We consider Greenville as our little brother team. We proudly support them and enthusiastically endorse their good work."
